Today was the boys' first day of school! Ryan is in 2nd grade and Aaron is in 6th! Wow, that makes me feel old! Aaron stayed in his home room today, but will get to meet his other teachers tomorrow. He didn't get in the class with one of his good friends, but they will get to see each other during lunch and recess. Ryan has several kids from his class last year, so he was excited when he got home. Of course, we kept with tradition and had cookie dough for a snack when they got home. Actually, I had it waiting for them in the car when I picked them up! Ryan said he wished it could be the first day of school every day! :)
One good thing about having two boys: they could care less about "back to school" clothes. I offered to at least buy them a new shirt for the first day, and since that meant shopping, I got a "no thank you." When I asked what they wanted to wear their first day, both said they didn't care. I thought surely there was a certain shirt they may want to wear, but again I got "I seriously don't care what I wear to school. Whatever you pick out is fine." I go to pick Ryan up from school and hear a little girl talking about her new outfit, and the one she's going to wear tomorrow. Oh the difference in boys and girls! I'm so glad we have 2 boys!
