Boys' First Ride on a Motorcycle

Dad is trying to sell his motorcycle, so we decided to let the boys have a ride on it.  I was kind of nervous about wild thing Ryan, but he did really well.  They both liked it, but Ryan is already asking to ride again!

They wore Mom's helmet for the ride.

Dad is going over the rules with Ryan.  :)

Ryan's first ride on a motorcycle!

 Aaron's turn!

They had a lot of fun!  Thank you Grandpa!

Grandma's Birthday

This Saturday, family got together to celebrate Grandma Margie's 80th birthday.  I had planned on taking lots of pictures, but it didn't work out.  But, I did get a couple of cute ones of the kids.  We love our Grandma, and are glad she lives here in McAlester now!

2nd Day of School

The boys had another good day at school.  Ryan is really liking 1st grade.  Well, he's really liking recess. :)
Aaron is still going to the college campus here.  It doesn't look like their building will be ready any time soon.  So, the 6th grade is going to stay at the campus, and 5th will be going to an old Catholic school.  This is going to be an interesting year for Aaron.  We meet with the school on Monday, so we'll see what the long term plan is.  The good thing is Aaron has had a chance to get to know the kids in his class, and some of the teachers, before any of the actual school work starts.

First Day of School!

Here are pictures of the boys first day at school.  Ryan is in 1st Grade, and going to Aaron's old school.  So, it wasn't too scary for him.  He was already familiar with the building and teachers.  Aaron is in 5th grade, and supposed to be at a new school.  (it's actually the building I was in for 9th & 10th grade)  Anyway, the day before school started there was a water break that flooded the school and caused "structural damage."  In other words windows busted, and walls cracked.  So, they met at a local college campus for today, and most likely all next week also.  At first I was worried about it, but it actually worked out good.  Aaron didn't know anyone in his class, so this gave him a day to meet new people without all the new school stuff too.  (at this school he'll be changing classes and have his own locker)

Can you see Aaron's excitement for going back to school?  :)

Ryan wasn't nervous about his first day at all!  He did get real quiet & calmed down when we walked in and he saw all the people, though.

We stopped by Mom's house before school so she could see the boys.

It's a tradition to have chocolate chip cookie dough for a snack on the 1st day of school.  I surprised them by bringing it with me this time!

Ryan had homework on his first day!  I'm not looking forward to helping two with homework!

Camping

We celebrated our last weekend before school by camping.  This time Clark was able to stay one night with us.  We all had a lot of fun.  Well, except for Denny.  He stayed home sick. :(

Dad found these huge chunks of styrofoam.  The kids loved playing on them!
