Fishing Tournament

This Saturday we went to a kid's fishing tournament from 10 to 2.  It was hot, we didn't catch anything, but we still had fun.  For the first hour there were huge wood bees (I assume that's what they were) flying all around.  For some reason they would chase me when I ran and screamed.  At least I gave the boys a little comic relief. :)

I think the boys got a little bored watching their bobbers.  I think they'd prefer to keep casting it out.

Denny bought a fishing license this weekend.  The fish better watch out!

Ryan's ticket was drawn for one of the prizes!

VBS

The kids went to VBS with my mom this week.  The theme was the armor of God.  They had a lot of fun!

Treasure Hunt

Every now & then I make a treasure hunt for the boys.  They have to follow clues to find the "surprise" I have for them.  This time it was Season 2 of Duck Dynasty.  Denny & I watch it first so we'll know what parts to skip, but otherwise we love that show!

Family Bike Ride

Here are a few pictures from our family bike ride this weekend.  We stopped half way through to have a Bible study.  It was a good evening!

Gone Fishin

On Ryan's actual birthday, he wanted to go fishing.  So, we took the boys to the pond at Spirit. (where Denny works)  It was our first fishing trip as a family, and we had a lot of fun!

Friday evening we caught 2 fish.  The first one Denny caught, but let Aaron reel it in.  The second one Aaron caught, and it was the bigger of the two!

Ryan was so excited we'd caught a fish!

Aaron is starting to look older.  :(

Denny had never cleaned a fish before, but I think he did a good job.  Ryan stayed right in the middle of it!

At this point the fish weren't moving much.  So, it was a good time to practice holding them!

They had so much fun, that we got up Saturday morning and went fishing again.  This time when Denny caught one, he let Ryan reel it in.

We had fried fish for lunch that day.  Denny really liked it, Aaron said it was just okay, and Ryan would rather catch & fillet them, and leave the eating to someone else.  :)

Looks like we're going to start fishing more often!

Ryan's 7th Birthday!!!

Ryan wanted a Harry Potter birthday party, so I did my best to give him one!

The Owlery.  Hedwig had to deliver a lot of presents for Ryan!

The Wand Shop.  Each kid had a wand box with a wand, Harry Potter cup, and Harry Potter crossword puzzle to take home.

Our entryway.

Honeydukes Sweet Shop.  Instead of feeding everyone a meal, we decided to have a candy bar.  Some of the sweets were: Cockroach Clusters, Dragon Eggs, Golden Snitch Truffles, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, & Flobberworms.

Ryan had trick candles.  They were almost like mini sparklers.

Lego Star Wars movie.

Toot Gun from the Despicable Me 2 movie.

Nun chucks.

And of course he got money!

Ryan, Avery, Clark, Aaron, & Michael.

I think we're a pretty good looking family!

Ryan & Denny had a wizard's duel.

Ryan got this lego set for his birthday, and put it together himself.

Playing in the pool after cake & presents.

This was Avery's first time in our pool.

Ryan jumping into the pool!

Fireworks

We had Ryan's birthday party on the 4th, so he had a friend spend the night and do fireworks the night before.

 Snakes are a classic!

It was a beautiful night.  We were even able to have a fire to help with the mosquitoes.

My boy is growing up so fast!

Fun with the kids!

Not long ago we got to watch Avery & Clark while William & Megan had a date night.  Clark isn't too fond of me (he's liking me better though!), but he absolutely adores the boys.  We had a lot of fun that evening. I was able to get Clarkie to sleep & hold him for quite a while that evening.  It was a good night!

Happy Father's Day (a little late!)

Okay, I know I'm a little late on this, but I didn't want the men in my life to think I forgot about them.  It's just been really busy around here!  We were camping on Father's Day weekend, so I don't really have any pictures.  After getting everything unloaded the boys did go for a swim with their daddy.  It was a good day, and I'm thankful for the wonderful father I have, and the wonderful father of my precious boys!
Happy late Father's Day!
